Whipped Cream of the Day

Lolla madness plus Texas heat has taken the life out of me. This post is slightly dull but still has all the deats you need to know.

• Drake’s “Headlines” is the first single from the impeding album Take Care (10/24).

• One of the first album reviews I wrote was for the LateNightTales compilation series by Midlake. I’m excited to hear that the next act to put one together is MGMT. It arrives 10/3.

• Head over to NPR to tap into another track from Neon Indian’s next album Era Extraña.

• Taylor Swift has been covering tracks from all types of genres and artists while on tour. Watch this pretty toned down cover of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” on her stop in Detroit.

• Nothing but exceptional, The Kills performed on Fallen on nailed it in style.

• I love mysterious videos! Especially when it involves Sigur Rós.

• The always-temperamental yet remarkable Ryan Adams is back with Ashes & Fire on 10/10. Collaborating on the album is Beatles & Bob Dylan legend Glyn Johns, Norah Jones, and Benmont Tench from Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. Head over to Stereogum for more details & a couple of live tracks.
