Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally at the Moontower Comedy and Oddity Fest
Last night, I got to catch Nick Offerman performing for the Moontower Comedy and Oddity Fest. Offerman performed his show American Ham show for us, and it was a f*cking great time. He's not so much a comedian in the same vein as Aziz Ansari or Seth Meyers (who were also fucking awesome), but it was like listening to a hilarious and badass college professor tell you how to succeed at life. His set started as he strolled out shirtless and then donned a stars and stripes cowboys shirt. He combined original songs and personal anecdotes... and at times just seemed to let his mind wander. Oh, and Nick Offerman IS Ron Fucking Swanson...
I can't find my favorite song from the evening ("The Rainbow Song"), but here's a fun one did at the end of the night.
Yes, Offerman's wife, Megan Mullally, was there and showcased a really fantastic voice. Mullally opened the show and was backed by a three piece band. It was a wonderful surprise to everyone. I just about geeked-out when they covered The White Stripes' "Little Room." To the absolute delight of any and all Parks and Rec fans, they closed the show with 500 Candles in the Wind, the moving song for Pawnee's L'il Sebastian.
